JSYK, Ellen Adarna and Derek Ramsay have moved camp! It looks like their honeymoon location has changed from the vast but flat landscape of the Ngorongoro crater, to the scenic kopjes (rocky hills) of the Serengeti. The newlyweds are now currently stationed at Serengeti Pioneer Camp, "home for the next few days" according to Ellen's Instagram stories.
The luxury camp's location makes it ideally situated for guests who want access to the annual migration of wildebeest, and potential spottings of the "Big Five" representing Africa's iconic wildlife — the lion, the leopard, the elephant, the Cape buffalo, and the rhino. Overlooking the Moru Kopjes and Lake Magadi, the endless plains truly stretch "as far as the eye can see."
Serengeti Pioneer Camp is comprised of of twelve-tented accommodations, each with their own en-suite facilities. There are two types of rooms available for booking: 11 Safari Tents, and 1 Family Tent..
Since Ellen and Derek have continued to share photos and videos of them out on safari, they most likely booked a Game Package here as well. Based on the setup of their tent (shown via Derek's Instagram Stories), it looks like they opted for a Safari Tent Game Package. A Triple Room booked in Mid Season would cost them USD $2,009 per night—that's around P103,000. And since Serengeti Pioneer Camp is also a part of the Elewana Collection*, Elias and other children under 12 years old get to stay free of charge.
It costs an additional USD $473 per person to get exclusive use of a safari vehicle with a driver guide, totalling USD $1,892 for four persons (approximately P97,000).
However, if you're looking to experience a luxury safari in the future and want maximum comfort, you can book the Family Tent Game Package, which sleeps up to six guests and comes with a private use vehicle. The two-bedroom suite is connected by a shared sitting room area for additional space. It would cost you a total of USD $4,465 per night—around P229,000!
