Good news!
If you're one of the biyaheros that have been seriously affected by the closure of the Santolan, Katipunan, and Anonas stations of the Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2), then you'll be glad to know that there's one alternative you can look into. ICYDK, a fire broke out on October 3 between Katipunan and Anonas stations, so repairs need to be done for *nine* months.
Though LRT-2 has already resumed operations from Cubao to Recto station, hundreds, if not thousands of commuters still risk being stranded on the streets trying to figure out a way to get a ride to school, work, or home.
On-demand app-based motorcycle taxi service Angkas is offering free rides to commuters between LRT-2's Santolan and Recto stations (and vice-versa). Yay!
You can avail of Angkas' free rides every Tuesday to Thursday, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. What a lifesaver!
While this may not be a permanent solution to the LRT-2 problem, this is definitely a godsend for challenged employees and students who have been relying on the train for their daily commute. Salamat, Angkas!
