On April 13, 2020—almost one month after Luzon was put under enhanced community quarantine due to the COVID-19 pandemic—the Department of Health (DOH) launched “DataCollect,” a mobile app that aims to identify the availability of resources within hospitals.
According to a social media post by the Department of Health, “the DataCollect app gathers daily data from hospitals and stakeholders such as essential resources and supplies, availability of hospital beds, isolation rooms, ICU beds and mechanical ventilators, and human resource needs.”
“The application will also be able to accurately calculate the projected need of PPEs, and link to our logistics offices for delivery of supplies. This will facilitate easier and faster tracking of reports between DOH offices.”
They also announced that as of April 12, Sunday, an improved COVID-19 tracker has been launched on their website.
“The revamped tracker features additional information on the epidemiology of COVID-19 in the country, COVID-19 testing, health facilities, and availability of personal protective equipment (PPEs). The public can now view data on the laboratory testing capacities of the DOH accredited laboratories including the total number of tests and unique individuals tested.”
You may access the new COVID-19 tracker here.

As of 4 p.m. today, the DOH confirms that there are 4,932 cases and 315 deaths in the country. They have also reported that 242 patients have recovered.
