With the administration's "enhanced community quarantine" in full swing for a few days now, your current supply of food, toiletries, medicine, and other necessities at home may be starting to dwindle. Thankfully, according to a memorandum released by the Department of Trade and Industry last March 16, essential services remain open throughout Metro Manila despite establishments closing in order to facilitate social distancing. These services include groceries, pharmacies, banks, convenience stores, and food stalls and restaurants (for takeout or delivery only).
Below, we list all the essential services still open in malls throughout Metro Manila as well as their operating hours. Note that with these turbulent times we are currently in, these services and operations are often subject to sudden change. We'll keep updating this spot, so check back when necessary.
It is important to note as well that only one person per household may leave in order to access basic necessities, as stated by Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles in a press briefing on March 18. Make sure whoever that is practices all the necessary safety and hygiene precautions before heading out. Shop safely!
