MRT commuters, here's some important news. According to a news report by ABS-CBN, MRT-3 is temporarily shutting down operations this Holy Week (from Holy Monday to Easter Sunday) as it undergoes annual general maintenance.
In its place, authorities have deployed more than 140 point-to-point (P2P) buses for the train's passengers, part of the MRT-3 Bus Augmentation Program.
The buses will have designated pick-up and drop-off points between North Avenue and Taft Avenue.
You can catch these buses from 5 am to 9 pm this Holy Week, except on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday. You will still need to pay the regular MRT fare for the bus ride.
Tip: There are some buses that will not be stopping at all MRT-3 stations, so make sure to ask the conductor first before riding the bus.
MRT-3 will resume regular operations next Monday, April 22. Need to ride the LRT-1 or the LRT-2 this Holy Week? Check out their Holy Week schedules to stay updated.
