Success can look different for many people. For some, it may mean a life of glitz and glamor, full of action in front of the camera—a life in the spotlight. For Sarah Geronimo, as long as life behind the limelight means "following her heart's desires, not what other people want for her," then it is still success.
During her interview for her PEP.ph July 2024 cover, Sarah was asked about her priorities for the upcoming years. "Napanood niyo po yung The Idea of You?" she asked. "Yung kay Anne Hathaway na she fell in love with a younger boy, and then she chose a quiet life, private life, love, family."
Sarah then referenced Daisy Jones & The Six, a TV series where the protagonist also chooses a quiet life.
While she admitted there are still many things she wants to do as a performer, Sarah takes inspiration from renowned singer Gary Valenciano. She admires how he balances his career and private life, not succumbing to the pressures of showbiz just to stay relevant.
"Ako, sobra po akong nabibilib kay Tito Gary, kung paano niya kinurve yung own path niya. Na hindi siya nagpadala sa pressure ng showbusiness, ‘You have to do this to stay relevant. You have to do this to, kumbaga, to basically please the world," Sarah addressed.

Sarah On Finding Her Peace Outside Fame: "Follow Your Heart’s Desire"
Far from her previous life filled with shows, concerts, and tours, Sarah now enjoys the freedom to manage her own time. She even joked about having the luxury to check the expiration dates on food products, something she couldn't do before due to her hectic schedule.
Opening up about her now-quiet and private life with her husband, Matteo Guidicelli, Sarah revealed that it's not so quiet after all. The couple has ventured into business together, opening G Studios.
"Ako po, mas sa creative side. Yung asawa ko, mas sa business," Sarah emphasized.
Sarah added that aside from managing G Studios, she now enjoys just being a homebody with their fur babies: Theodore, Liya, Nuka, Dakota, 04, and Fruity the cat.
"Homebody lang talaga po ako. Hindi ako malabas talaga na tao. And mas gusto ko to spend time with my mga alaga, mga fur babies ko," Sarah declared in her PEP.ph July 2024 cover.
"Alam niyo, mas gusto ko silang kasama talaga kesa sa tao. Iba yung peace na nabibigay nila sa akin. Maybe because they don't talk. They don't judge.. I don't know, baka hayop po ako in my past life. So, kahit na hindi kami mag-usap with words, may connection na," the actress added.
Sarah now enjoys baking as well. After taking a short course on baking, she discovered a new passion. Eventually, Sarah plans to open a food business that serves not only pastries that she baked but also other dishes.
This, for Sarah, is what peace meant for her. She elaborated that it goes beyond fame and success as an artist. Now, she is enjoying the process of growth as an individual.
"Yung pag may peace ka lang po. May inner peace ka talaga sa lahat, ng bagay— relationships, relationship unang-una with yourself, which is, parang work in progress pa po ako.. As a person, as a woman, and as an artist, parang ang dami ko pang hindi pa nagagawa," she declared.
