With people saying "pics or it didn't happen" as a standard reaction to things even in just the slightest amount surprising or different, everything—from events, travels, celebrity sightings, to even what you just had for lunch—is now being documented.
Government agencies are also stepping up their game: The Department of Tourism of the Philippines has launched their TikTok account yesterday!
The DOT is also reportedly working on a partnership with TikTok for a "TikTok video challenge," with mechanics set to be announced during the first quarter of 2020.
