Carlo Aquino and Charlie Dizon recently made headlines due to their lowkey wedding at Silang, Cavite. However, Carlo's former partner Trina Candaza has spoken up to address speculations on why Mithi, her daughter with the actor, was not present at the wedding.
According to Ogie Diaz, he reached out to Trina in response to receiving queries from netizens. They were wondering why Mithi was absent from the wedding of her father. Trina refuted the allegations that she did not allow her daughter to be part of the entourage.
"Carlo didn’t ask if pwedeng umattend si Mithi.." Trina revealed to Ogie.
According to Trina, if Carlo had just asked, she would have agreed. However, he didn't reach out to her, as further noted by Ogie.
Trina Candaza And Carlo Aquino On Co-Parenting Mithi
While Trina did not expound on their current co-parenting setup, in 2023, Carlo reportedly filed for visitation rights and said that Trina has been preventing him from seeing their daughter. Carlo was also not present at Mithi's third birthday celebration party.
Later on, Trina denied the claims that she prevented Carlo from seeing their daughter.
"Yung mga headline ngayon na hindi ko raw pinapahiram si Mithi at siya ang bumubuhay sa aming dalawa…that’s not true," Trina emphasized in an earlier interview with Ogie.
"Minsan, pinupuntahan naman niya si Mithi or pinapasundo niya. And nagagampanan naman niya pero he will only give the bare minimum. He will not extend efforts," Trina added.
As per Ogie, who attended the birthday celebration, Carlo was actually invited to his daughter's party.
Trina and Carlo were together in January 2019 and welcomed their daughter in September 2020. They broke up in April 2022 after an almost 4-year relationship.
