While speculation has been running wild, Andrea has finally set the record straight, revealing what everyone’s been waiting to hear: "Not yet in a relationship. I'm just dating," Andrea shared during an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN entertainment journalist MJ Felipe.
ICYDK, rumors about her alleged new "boyfriend" started circulating online after she was repeatedly seen with Sam—a non-showbiz personality and former San Beda basketball player—particularly at the recent Lucky Beauty event.
While she made it clear that she's not officially in a relationship, Andrea admitted that she and Sam have been seeing each other. "I am dating someone [Sam] right now. He's a private person, non-showbiz siya," Andrea said. "He's also not a basketball player. He used to play," she added.
Andrea also clarified that they've known each other for years and have been friends for a long time. Some reports even suggest they met through frisbee, a sport Andrea was seen playing as early as September 2024, on the same team Sam is reportedly part of.
Andrea Brillantes Reveals Relationship Status
Andrea has been single for nearly two years now. After calling it quits with basketball player Ricci Rivero, she never closed her doors to new suitors and has remained open to dating.
"Sinabi ko naman na open naman ako sa pagde-date kasi magtu-two years din naman na wala [akong] boyfriend," Andrea shared.
However, she admitted being surprised by how quickly people assumed she was already in a relationship. "Naloloka ako kasi ang daming nagsasabi na bakit may boyfriend na ako agad, you know, I'm just open dating," she added.
If there's one relationship she's most focused on right now, the actress emphasized that it's her relationship with God—especially as she turns 22.
"Hindi mawala 'yung relationship and faith ko with Lord. And ma-strengthen lang 'yung relationship ko sa Kanya. Kasi sa Kanya lang din nanggaling 'yung peace and happiness ko. So, I believe if I just keep on pressing with my relationship with God, kahit ano pang obstacle 'yan kakayanin ko 'yan," she said.
