Barbie Forteza is living the time of her life! The actress stars in the hit GMA primetime show, Maria Clara at Ibarra. She plays Klay, a nursing student who was ~transported~ to the world of the Filipino novel, Noli Me Tangere, the Jose Rizal masterpiece.
We challenged Barbie to do her makeup with us while answering some ~pressing~ questions in the latest episode of Summit Sessions. ICYDK, she gives pretty good dating and love advice!
She and her boyfriend Jak Roberto have been together for more than five years, so we asked for advice on how to make a relationship last. She said she values her partner's personal growth.
"'Wag mong sakalin yung partner mo. Hayaan mo siyang gawin yung hobbies niya, mga hilig niya para siya rin as an individual nag-go-grow siya," Barbie responded. "Hayaan mo siyang gawin yung gusto niya pero set limits," she clarified.
"Also, 'pag dating sa family, palagi ko sinasabi sa kanya [Jak] na 'pahalagahan mo yung family ko kasi tinanggap ka rin nila ng buong-buo'," she added.
"Parang anak na rin yung tingin nila [Barbie's parents] kay Jak. So sabi ko [kay Jak], 'don't take it for granted. Pahalagahan mo iyan kasi 'di lahat ng parents ganyan," she explained.
