Carla Abellana says she's aware of the possibility that she might cross paths with former husband, Tom Rodriguez.
"Inevitable po 'yun. Of course, matagal ko na pong inisip 'yun. Na-prepare ko 'yung sarili ko," Carla told in a press conference on September 26.
Carla admitted that she has long accepted the fact that they both work in the same industry. So if Tom decides to come back to the Philippines and still work as a celebrity, Carla assured that she's ready to face him without any hard feelings anymore.
"Parang wala na po. Wala na akong mararamdaman kung sakali man pong mangyari 'yun or kung mangyari man na po 'yun," the actress declared.
"Confident na po ako na hindi naman po ako parang magpa-panic or matatakot o malulungkot, parang ganon," Carla added.
The actress proudly declared that she has completely moved on from her past relationship with Tom. Moreover, she's greatly contented with where she is and who she has become at present.
"Nahanap ko na po 'yung aking peace. 'Yung talagang nasara ko na po 'yung chapter na iyon ng aking buhay," Carla stated.
It's all about professionalism, Carla said. That's why co-existing with her ex-husband at work is not a problem for her. "Ako naman po ay napaka-professional na tao. So, kung sakaling nasa studio po siya, o kunwari ay may show po, kung nandun po siya, wala pong problema. Kumbaga, trabaho lang po."
When asked if she'd be down to greet Tom first, Carla sees no need for it. "Ayoko po. I don't see the need (to greet first). I don't think it's necessary na magkaroon pa ng ganoong initiative, attempt, o reach out."
Carla and Tom dated for seven years before they tied the knot in October 2021.
Just months after their wedding, the ex-couple were spotted unfollowing each other on their social media accounts. This later escalated to their divorce announcement in June 2022.
Although the true reason for their split was not revealed, Carla had opened up about her feelings after their separation. "I was disrespected. I was betrayed. I was lied to," the actress told Boy Abunda in February 2023.
