“Single but happy.” That’s how Cosmopolitan Philippines July 2023 Cover Girl Chie Filomeno describes the current state of her lovelife.
For Chie, it is high time for her to focus more on herself and her craft as an actress. She’s happy and content with everything she’s been achieving regardless if she’s single or in a relationship.
“I’m enjoying my me-time. You don’t need to be in a relationship to be happy,” Chie said in our interview.
Chie also shared an interesting take on relationships that a lot of people must hear: “A relationship for me is an investment. ‘Yung gusto ko sa tao na paglalaanan ko (ng pagmamahal), ‘yun na ‘yun. Kasi we’re not getting any younger, so invest wisely.”
Investing wisely for Chie is also about not giving her all during her past relationships. It’s essential that she leaves some for herself. “Wag kang maubos. Kasi ‘pag naubos ka, hindi ka na maniniwala sa love eh,” Chie declares.
And since there’s a lot to look forward to in Chie’s life and career at the moment, she feels comfortable with singlehood. It’s also the part of her life that allows her to explore more, to love herself more, and to establish her confidence as a woman.
“With singlehood, just enjoy it. Doon mo rin mahahanap yung confidence mo, ‘pag naging single ka,” Chie says.
Chie looks past dating rumors that come along as she focuses on her career goals of becoming a really good actress in the industry. But she believes that someone out there is her destiny and she’ll be taking her time. “In God’s perfect time, you’ll find yung aalagaan mo at aalagaan ka,” Chie affirms.
