No doubt, Cristine Reyes and Marco Gumabao are listed as one of the hottest real-life couples in showbiz. With their stunning physiques and amazing visuals, they are definitely #CoupleGoals. Interestingly, one of their common interests had something to do with how their romance actually started.
Talking to TV host Luis Manzano, Cristine candidly revealed how she started to have feelings for Marco, and vice versa. Apparently, it was due to their shared love for working out!
Luis asked Cristine about the moment that she really felt that Marco had been exerting much effort for her. "Kailan [mo] naramdaman na "okay medyo, extra effort na 'to?""
"Lumipat siya sa Makati. Ako sa Taguig. Lagi siyang nagya-yaya na mag-workout, ganyan. So ako naman, akala ko, barkadahan lang 'yun kasi we were with Jake Cuenca pa noon," Cristine began her story. She continued, "And then all of a sudden, si Jake napunta na sa Cebu kasi nag-taping siya ng Iron Heart. So naiwan kaming dalawa ni Marco."
What appeared to be simple joint workout sessions at first eventually became "date workouts" where they developed not just their strength but their solid romantic feelings for each other.
"So instead of ma-work out 'yung physical ano namin, na-work out 'yung feelings," Cristine declared. Luis couldn't help but laugh at Cristine's remark.

Cristine's revelation was followed by Luis' question about their age gap. ICYDK, Cristine and Marco share a 5-year age gap. Luis asked her if it was ever a problem or a factor for her in considering a relationship with Marco in the beginning.
Cristine honestly answered, "Oo, 'nung una talaga... Iba naman kasi ang babae sa lalaki eh." The actress continued to explain her reason in a lighthearted yet serious manner, "Ang babae, kayang mag-mature instantly... 'Yung mga lalaki kasi, bakit ang tagal niyong mag-mature?"
But jokes aside, Cristine clarified that their age gap did initially bother her. Nonetheless, they are navigating through their relationship with much ease and purpose at the moment.
It was in April 2023 when the couple went Instagram-official with a cozy photo! Marco ~flexed~ Cristine on his feed, posting a carousel of their sweet couple pics (they look sooo good together, BTW) and the sweetest caption to accompany it. "You are my home and adventure all at once," he wrote.
