Sadly, Elijah Canlas and Miles Ocampo are no longer together.
Elijah confirmed the news in a recent interview with Ganiel Krishnan. The 23-year-old actor was asked about his relationship status with Miles. At first, Elijah said, "We're okay. We're not mad at each other."
In a bid to get a clearer picture of the couple's situation, Ganiel directly asked Elijah, "Are you still together?" to which the young star responded, "Sadly, no. We broke up a couple of months ago."
Elijah still expressed his support and care for his former girlfriend despite their split. He says that their breakup was all about figuring out their lives at the moment.
"But I'm always gonna have love for her. I'm always gonna support her in whatever she does. I'm always gonna be her number one fan basically. But right now, we're just taking our time, figuring out ourselves and our lives right now," Elijah declared.
He admitted that they went through a "rough patch" during their relationship that eventually led to their decision to go their separate ways. "Mainly because we're going through our personal stuff so it's been hard. So we're figuring things out," he explained.
It was in May 2022 when Elijah and Miles went public about their relationship which began in 2021. "Parang last year pa po kami... Very private persons talaga kaming dalawa. E ako, parang hindi rin naman ako ma-post sa social media talaga. So, hindi ko alam yung galawan, e siya yung mas may alam. 'Yon lang, nagki-keep lang po ng privacy," Elijah said in an interview.
Earlier this year, Miles opened up about undergoing thyroid surgery to address her sickness called, papillary thyroid carcinoma. She revealed that her health condition is what caused her to gain a lot of weight. Back then, Miles shared that Elijah became a part of her support system.
In August 2023, months before the release of Elijah's current series, Senior High, the actor mourned the sudden death of his 17-year-old brother, JM Canlas.
The former couple was even part of Netflix Philippines' first Chrismas station ID in September. ICYDK, Elijah was part of the Netflix original film called Keys To The Heart, and Miles top-billed the Netflix film, Missed Connections.
