Ellen Adarna and Derek Ramsay have long been one of those celebrity couples who kept things relatively low-key. They shared occasional couple photos, celebrated milestones, and posted about family moments—but mostly, they kept things private.
This year, however, it appears the couple's relationship has come to an end. After surprising everyone with the news of her first baby with Derek just about a year ago, Ellen made waves online in November 2025 with statements about her now-estranged husband.
We've previously covered the timeline of their relationship, so let's take another look at how things unfolded between Ellen and Derek.

January 2021: Ellen and Derek were first spotted together *outside work*
First things first, 2021 was an eventful year for Ellen and Derek. The two, as we all know, have been in the entertainment industry for quite some time now. They are esteemed celebrities in their own right and have had their fair share of relationships in the past.
But it was in January 2021 when rumors about their blossoming romance sparked. The two were spotted together at a beach resort in Batangas. Although we have to note that it wasn't just the two of them. They were with some non-celeb friends. However, the public couldn't help themselves and wondered if anything was brewing between the two at the time.
February 2021: Ellen and Derek confirm their relationship
Okay, so... not long after their dating rumors circulated, the two admitted their relationship in a very cutesy way. It was simple, yet the Internet went frenzy over their "confirmation photos." Ellen posted an extremely sweet and playful photo grid with Derek. She only posted a couple of emojis as the caption, but the photos told a thousand words about their sweet romance!
On February 26, PEP.ph published an interview with Ellen and Derek, confirming their relationship! Derek and Ellen affirmed that they've been dating for a month. "May relasyon kami, oo," Derek confirmed to PEP.ph. Derek also admitted that they really felt that *spark* in their relationship. They were really comfortable with each other! Derek added, "Like, walang dull moment. Sa isang month, meron na kaming tawanan. Meron na kaming tampuhan... lahat meron na."
Just days after Ellen posted their first official photo on Ellen's IG grid, she posted a carousel of sweet pics with Derek! This time, aside from a heart-eyed emoji as the caption, she directly tagged Derek in her post.

March 2021: Ellen Adarna and Derek Ramsay's first monthsary and their...wedding engagement!
So just a couple of days after their interview with PEP.ph, the two celebrated their first official month together—March 4. If people thought that the two would go for a couple of years later as a boyfriend-girlfriend... well, they thought wrong.
Before the month of March ended, Derek knelt down and popped the question to Ellen! The two got engaged in front of their family and friends, and it was a simple engagement. Ellen posted their engagement pics with the caption, "Game Over @ramsayderek07." The two also took snaps together with their kids from former relationships, Elias Modesto Cruz and Austin Ramsay.
Derek actually gifted Ellen a mixed-media art piece made of butterflies. The butterfly artwork happens to have a very meaningful backstory for Ellen.
"Last March, Derek Ramsay @ramsayderek07 asked me to do a meaningful piece dedicated to his marriage proposal. The title of this work is Exodus. It's a group of various species of actual butterflies against a black surface. Exodus literally means 'the road out.' I wanted to come up with something about setting free," the local artist Vien Valencia explained on Instagram.
April 2021: Ellen Adarna opens up about her relationship with Derek Ramsay
Although Ellen and Derek have been friends for quite some time (and also house neighbors), it was the combination of their connection and right timing that helped their relationship blossom. For Ellen, she knew Derek was "The One" after feeling that intense connection with him, and also after she learned what she really wanted in a relationship.
"Okay, first is the connection. It's the communication. And he [Derek] met me at the right time. He met me during the pandemic. I fixed myself, I worked on myself, I did a lot of inner work, so at that time [that we met], I knew what I wanted na. I knew what was good for me, I knew what was bad for me. And when I made better choices for myself, that's when things just started to come in and everything just made sense," Ellen expressed in an April 2021 Instagram Live.
September 2021: The pamamanhikan
Marriage, of course, is a big thing for both Ellen and Derek, so they wanted to do everything right. The two had a pamamanhikan, which Filipinos know as a tradition where the groom formally asks the bride's family for her hand in marriage.
During a beach getaway in Siargao in September 2021, Ellen and Derek spent some quality time with their families. The couple posted on IG about their activities, which included fishing and just a lot of beach fun. Then came Derek's IG Story, which he captioned with, "Mamanhikan." The photo he posted was a shot of him with Ellen, Elias, and Ellen's mother, Meriam Go-Adarna. Plus, there was also a photo of the Adarna-Ramsay bunch!
October 2021: Ellen & Derek's HOT AF prenup pics
Derek, who's known to sport his usual shaved hairstyle, unveiled a different look for their prenup shoot and also their wedding. He posted super hot prenup pics of him and Ellen with the caption, "My LIFE...with hair! I love you DAI!"
From the photos, we see that the concept was: Ellen and Derek passionately and sweetly spending their time in the middle of a...wildgrass field. They looked stunning and absolutely gorgeous in the pics. Their followers loved it too!
November 2021: Ellen Adarna and Derek Ramsay's tearful wedding
Ellen and Derek got married on November 11, 2021, in the numeric format it's 11.11.21 ;) The couple surely picked the perfect date and the perfect venue (!) for their wedding. They had an outdoor wedding ceremony at the Rancho Bernardo Luxury Villas in Bagac, Bataan. Their wedding was attended by their family and close friends only, including, of course, their sons from previous relationships, Austin and Elias.
(Fun fact about their wedding venue: The leisure property sprawls over eight hectares, featuring private villas with palatial interiors, outdoor jacuzzis, koi ponds, and landscaped gardens. It's a must-visit!)
Ellen was a vision in her breathtaking wedding gown, created by the Manila-based designer Marc Rancy. The designer posted on Instagram Stories and told Ellen, "It was my pleasure to be your designer for the most important dress in your life. Thank you for making me part of your big day."
Ellen & Derek's wedding vows
Everyone was emotional during their wedding ceremony. The two took their time in expressing their love and affection for each other through their wedding vows. Derek said, "I told them, 'In my 44 years, have I ever mentioned the m[arriage] word to you guys?' I guess that question made them realize how serious I was and how happy I was to have you. Even my son Austin, who was the first person I told, was happy about this decision and finally called me dad for the first time."
He continued, "I have no doubts when it comes to our relationship. I have no doubts about what I feel for you and Elias. Despite the speed of everything, I have never been so sure about anything in my life. I have fallen so deeply in love with you."
For Ellen, Derek was the one worth fighting for. She conveyed, "There is no perfect person. It's just the one that I choose, the one that’s worth fighting for. And it's you. I do not seem to know what's okay or not, what's right or wrong, here or there, left or right, the noise, and the confusion. All I know is that when I close my eyes, when I focus on myself, when I focus on us, and when I meditate, it's you."
Being the funny and candid couple they were, Ellen and Derek actually shared what went down during their wedding night. Derek uploaded on Instagram Stories a clip of them revealing that they were sharing a bed with Ellen's mother—on their wedding night!
"So love, you know I love you, right?" Derek told Ellen. "Imagine, our wedding day…Our wedding night ended where I slept with you and your mother." LOL, that's one unforgettable night!

December 2021: The Ramsays' first business together
"So this is our first venture as a couple," Derek shared in an Instagram Story back in December 2021. The actor-entrepreneur was referring to an ice plant business he and Ellen put up together. He shared on social media, "Now, we are a proud owner of Mr. Freeze Ice Plant."
Ellen on the other hand posted quirky photos of Derek enjoying their first business together. She wrote in the caption, "With the one and only ICE ICE BABY, COOL, COOLOKOY"
February 4, 2022: First couple anniversary
As mentioned above, Ellen and Derek got engaged within less than two months of being a couple. Still, Ellen greeted her now-husband with a happy anniversary, as they celebrated their first year of being a couple.
On February 3 (a day before their couple anniversary), Ellen wrote on Instagram, "Then (same day last year) and now. If you didn't marry me in a heartbeat, today would be our first anniversary together (boyfriend-girlfriend)... But gigil na gigil ka. Happy anniversary, ex-boyfriend, I love you."
February 2022: The honeymoon
A couple of months after their dreamy outdoor wedding in Bataan, the celebrity couple headed to their one-of-a-kind honeymoon—and they brought Elias with them. The Ramsay family went to Tanzania.
The trio stayed at the Elewana The Manor at Ngorongoro located in northwest Tanzania, which features private cottages and a safari lodge. It is adjacent to the Ngorongoro conservation area which has a 1,500-acre Arabica coffee estate. Their accommodation is also quite near to the famous Ngorongoro Crater, which is considered the "Eighth Wonder of the World!" It is an extinct volcano that has an 18-kilometer-wide crater floor, which now caters to nearly all wildlife that you would wish to see on an African safari.

November 2022: Their second wedding on their first wedding anniversary
After a year of their beautiful outdoor wedding, Ellen and Derek went to Peru to 1) celebrate their second wedding anniversary and 2) to get married again!
In an Instagram post on November 11, Ellen shared that they did another marriage ritual in Peru. She wrote, "Today, we got married again. 11.11"
While Ellen did not specify the ritual they performed, reports stated that the couple took part in a Peruvian despacho ceremony. It is also called the "gratitude ceremony," which can be done during births, deaths, to heal emotional or physical illness, or to restore harmony.
And by the way, Derek gifted Ellen with a sky blue Bentley SUV for their first wedding anniversary! "Advanced happy anniversary to the love of my life. Thank you for giving me so much love," he captioned his post. "I've really found true happiness."

October 2023: Ellen shares her pregnancy preparations
Several months later, Ellen shared bits of her preparation for pregnancy. She expressed her hopes to conceive one more time, and hopefully, she wished for a baby girl. Plus, she really wanted to give birth in the year 2024 so that her baby would be born in the Year of the Dragon—the same as hers!
The 36-year-old celebrity talked about how she quit smoking and even removed her IUD (intrauterine device). "Next year na ako mabuntis […] One last na lang, and hopefully, it's a girl [...] Dragon baby kaya kailangang manganak ako after February 10 [2024] para year of the Dragon, so, naka-schedule 'yan."
November 2023: Ellen & Derek travel the world
The year 2023 seemed to be a big one for Ellen and Derek. While it may have been the year they focused on starting a family, it was also a year of career moves and adventures—Derek returned to showbiz with his film Kampon, and both of them traveled to different corners of the globe.
Among all their travels, their Barcelona trip in November 2023 was a highlight. The couple spent time exploring the city with family and friends, and even celebrated Derek's mom's birthday in Spain. But in many of their photos, it almost looks like they're the only two people in the world.

December 2023: Ellen's miscarriage
But amid the fun and love surrounding them early into the relationship, the couple had to overcome their own struggles silently. It was in December 2023 when Derek told the public that his wife suffered a miscarriage.
"Noong nasa Spain kami, nalaman namin na preggy si Ellen. And then unfortunately, we lost the baby pero at least alam namin na hindi kami baog. First attempt pa lang naman," Derek shared in a press con for his upcoming horror film, Kampon, on December 11, 2023.
The 47-year-old actor also expressed his worries about being unable to have a child with Ellen. "Sa pelikula (namin) sabi ng mga doktor, baog, hindi makabuo. 'Yun 'yung problema naming mag-asawa sa film. To be honest, ako, worried ako kasi medyo tumatanda na rin tayo so akala ko baog din ako," he openly disclosed.
Following Derek's revelation, Ellen got candid about her pregnancy loss in a series of Q and As on her Instagram account. One follower asked her about her well-being after the miscarriage. Apparently, Ellen had no plans of making her miscarriage or her pregnancy public. In a slight jest, the celebrity remarked how her husband couldn't "shut his mouth" about the said matter.
"I'm okay. I had no plans announcing it to be honest. And if ever I'm not going to announce it. Ma-shock na lang kayo na may baby na. But my husband can't shut his mouth," Ellen stated.
Ellen admitted that it bothered her for some time when her husband announced it to the press. "The day he told me that he mentioned me and talked about it, it actually gave me anxiety. 'Coz oh my god, why? So my plan is when I get pregnant, I'm not gonna tell my husband," she quipped.
October 2024: Ellen shocks the Internet with her second baby
True enough, almost a year after Ellen's declaration that she wasn't going to announce her pregnancy, she gave birth to her first child with Derek.
Derek broke the news on his Instagram page. He uploaded a photo of Ellen still lying on her hospital bed, looking as pretty as ever, with her nails on fleek in the shade of royal blue, holding the newest addition to their happy family. Beside Ellen was her eldest son, Elias, seemingly conversing with his mom and sibling.
Months after announcing the birth of their baby girl, Ellen also shared snaps of Baby Lilli—and the Internet instantly fell in love. Everyone adored her, even sparking a cute debate about who she takes after.

October 2025: Derek is absent from Baby Lilli's 1st birthday
Celebrities often keep a private side, and in mid-2025, Ellen and Derek largely stayed out of the spotlight. Rumors about a split had already started circulating online, but the couple remained mostly quiet.
Their social media activity together became less frequent. By October 2025, Ellen shared photos from Baby Lilli's first birthday celebration. The pictures featured Ellen, Elias, and other family and friends—noticeably absent was Derek, Lilli's father.
Fans naturally wondered why Derek wasn't present. Ellen responded to an Instagram comment, saying, “Sinendan namin siya ng invite. Ewan ko bakit hindi siya pumunta” (translated: "We sent him an invite. I don't know why he didn't come").
Derek has not publicly commented on the matter. Around the same time, he posted photos of his daughter with messages expressing that he misses her and that he'll be home soon.
November 2025: Ellen shares cheating allegations about Derek
By November, Ellen appeared ready to speak more openly about her relationship with Derek. In a series of Instagram Stories, she shared screenshots suggesting Derek had been involved with another person—whom she described as a "side chick." In Ellen's screenshots the other person seems to have referenced herself as a "seasonal friend," Ellen claimed this person had known Derek for years.
Throughout her posts, Ellen did not name the alleged third party or refer to any of Derek's ex-girlfriends. She did, however, mention that she is now in a group chat with some of Derek's former partners, who have shared information about him.
One caption read, "Group chat of me and some ex-girlfriends laglagan na eto," alongside screenshots showing participants comparing timelines and reacting to shared messages. She also wrote, "Sino ba talaga ang liar na ang daming nagsasalita" (translated: "Who's really lying with so many people talking?").
Towards the end of Ellen's IG Story saga, she affirmed that she's got more "receipts" about Derek's alleged affair, but she will reveal it when the time is right. She clarified that she only discovered the alleged "infidelity" three weeks ago after a source shared the screenshots with her.
Aside from posting the screenshots, Ellen again confirmed that they sent Derek an invite for Baby Lilli's birthday. However, only his sister and nephew came from their side of the family.
November 2025: Ellen shares an alleged video of Derek verbally confronting her
A few days after Ellen posted about the screenshots, Derek had not made a public statement. However, a video clip may have prompted a response. In an interview, Coach Vee Antonio recalled seeing Derek apparently curse at Ellen in an online video—one in which Ellen had pranked him. Coach Vee noted that it was one sign that the couple's relationship might face challenges, which ultimately seemed to be the case.
Surprisingly, Derek reacted to that video and commented, "For your information I never cursed my wife mam!!! Ellen and I would always prank each other and we never got mad at each other."
Hours later, Ellen posted a video including a screenshot of Derek's comment, alongside a clip of him allegedly speaking to her in a heated moment, saying: "Napakaduwag mo. Puro ka lang salita. 'Yan ang problema sayo. You go avoid every f**ing conflict in life." Ellen captioned the post: "Hay naku Derek…"
As of this writing, Derek has not issued a public statement regarding the screenshots or the video clip Ellen shared.
