These are some of the celebrity couples who called off their engagements:
Bea Alonzo and Dominic Roque
Everyone thought the time had finally come for Bea Alonzo to finally settle down. The Internet was so happy for Bea and Dominic Roque when they announced their engagement in July 2023, almost three years after they began dating.
However, things went downhill by early 2024, as they announced their canceled engagement in a joint statement in February. Although they did not reveal the reason for it, they have expressed that it was a mutual decision to go their separate ways.

Yassi Pressman and Jon Semira
In 2023, Yassi Pressman went viral for her breakup with her ex-boyfriend Jon Semira. Their breakup announcement was first smeared by cheating allegations, which they quickly clarified to the public.
It was Jon who debunked rumors that a third party triggered their separation. He also shared that it's been a while since they broke up and it was entirely a mutual decision between the two of them.
However, just hours after their announcement, an engagement video between the two made waves online, causing a stir among netizens. The two did not publicly announce their rumored engagement and they remained mum about it.
Denise Laurel and Sol Mercado
Denise Laurel announced the end of her engagement with the basketball player Sol Mercado in October 2016. In a report by PEP.ph, a now-deleted post by Denise read, "From now on Sol and I are just friends. I am very happy for him and I have learned so much from him. But please don't tag me first on anything that has to do with him. :) We both tried our best. Thank you, appreciate you all."
No solid reason as to why they have called it quits, but Denise took the chance to clarify that there was no cheating involved in their breakup. Instead, the former actress mentioned how much of a good influence Sol had been in her life.
Denise and Sol had a long engagement which started in 2013. They once disclosed that they ought to get married sometime in 2016 or 2017. But in June 2016, Denise became vocal about the postponement of their wedding, which she first said was due to their conflicting and busy schedules at the time.
Scottie Thompson and Pau Fajardo
Basketball player Scottie Thompson and Pau Fajardo welcomed the year 2021 as an engaged couple. Unexpectedly, just a couple of months after their engagement, Scottie and Pau broke up—ending their eight-year relationship.
What surprised everyone more was the fact that two months after their breakup, Scottie got married, but not with Pau.
In April 2022, Pau candidly shared that she was still in the process of moving on from her broken engagement with Scottie. "Kailangan [hintayin 'yung right time] kasi what happened is hindi ganun kadali," she said in an interview.
As of writing, Pau is currently in a relationship with her new boyfriend, whom she hard-launched in October 2023.
Nicole Andersson and Chris
Beauty and fashion vlogger Nicole Andersson was once engaged to her former triathlete BF, Chris. Nicole did not reveal the full identity of Chris back then, except that he was based in Guam.
The two low-key announced their relationship milestone in an Instagram post in January 2022, which showed Nicole's engagement ring. "Forever has a nice ring to it," Nicole wrote in her post.
Fast forward to September 2022, Nicole broke the news through one of her vlogs. "I’ll answer it once and for all, also para tapos na and we could move on. But, I am single. So, there is no wedding happening," she declared.
