Jasmine Curtis-Smith revealed that living together has benefitted her relationship with her longtime boyfriend, Jeff Ortega.
Contrary to the traditional belief of tying the knot first before moving in together in one house, Jasmine and Jeff decided to try the live-in setup nearly five years into their relationship. It has been almost three years since they've been "housemates."
Jasmine and Jeff have been dating for roughly eight years, and they partially attributed the success of their relationship to their decision to live under one roof as a couple. She noted how misunderstandings and arguments become ultimately resolved when they go home to the same house at the end of the day.
"Advance kami! I know a lot of people 'pag ganoon na katagal, parang, into, lalo na, they say make or break at seven years. But kami kasi parang napatunayan namin na ito na 'yung perfect place na kapag hindi tayo nagkakaintindihan," she explained in an interview with PEP.ph. "Wala tayong choice but to say, yes, because we're together in one room. So I'm not sure po, parang, it's been really good for the both of us," Jasmine remarked. She also said that the decision to move in together wasn't forced. "Well, actually, organic na nangyari yung live-in," she revealed.
Since they have gotten used to their current relationship set-up, would marriage still be playing a key role between the two of them? Jasmine says it's still included in their plans, just not at the moment. "Alam namin it (marriage) will happen naman, natural. And dahil parang kasal na rin po kami, it's nice to know na 'yun na lang naman 'yung plan, the actress disclosed.
Jasmine is not in any rush to get married, but she is looking forward to a lifetime with Jeff. "Kasi kami, very conscious sa timeline namin. Parang kung gusto namin, sana sundan 'yung tradition na kasal muna, puwera lang sa live-in na, nauna na 'yun. Pero po, 'yung kasal po, 'yung mag-anak, 'no? Sana, sana ganoon pa rin ang timeline namin," Jasmine told PEP.ph.
