So, apparently Bennifer's over. Jennifer Lopez has reportedly filed for divorce from her husband of two years, Ben Affleck.
News reports state that the American superstar filed for divorce—alone and without legal counsel—on Tuesday, August 20, at the Los Angeles County Superior Court. August 20 is also the anniversary of their second wedding ceremony.
A report from TMZ divulged that J.Lo indicated April 26, 2024, as the date of their separation. Aside from that, no other significant details have been reported yet regarding J.Lo and Ben's divorce.
J.Lo was apparently spotted in public on the day listed as their breakup date. April 26th happens to be a couple of weeks before breakup rumors began circulating about the couple. According to E! Online, the internet got wind of Bennifer's trouble in paradise when J.Lo attended the 2024 Met Gala alone.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's relationship
ICYDK, this was a second-chance romance that some Bennifer fans were waiting for—even after decades! Jennifer and Ben first fell in love with each other in 2003, when they became lead co-stars in the film Gigli. They were so in love with each other that the couple had planned to tie the knot the same year they became official.
However, life had different plans for the two celebrities. They eventually broke off their engagement in 2004, moving on with their separate lives for almost two decades.
Jennifer married American singer-songwriter Marc Anthony after ending her romance with Ben. However, the two split in 2011, and their divorce was officially finalized in 2014. They have two children together, twins Max and Emme.
Years before her romance with Ben was rekindled, J.Lo also got engaged to Alex Rodriguez. However, things turned sour for the ex-couple after Alex's cheating rumors began circulating. Despite the two denying the cheating allegations, their relationship really came to an end in 2021. The two were seen as a power couple with J.Lo being a superstar, and Alex being a former professional baseball player.

Meanwhile, after starring in 2003's Daredevil together, Ben and co-star Jennifer Garner fell in love and tied the knot in 2005. After 10 years and three children together (daughters Violet Anne and Seraphina Rose Elizabeth, and son Samuel), the couple decided to go their separate ways in 2015, and finalized their divorce in 2018.
It was in 2022 that J.Lo and Ben found a chance to rekindle their love for each other, and eventually tied the knot. They even had two weddings—one in Las Vegas, and another in Georgia! Last year, she wrote the most endearing wedding anniversary poem for Ben. It came with the sweetest wedding photos as well.
"Dear Ben, Sitting here alone. Looking at my ring ring. Feeling overwhelmed. It makes me wanna sing sing. How did we end up here. Without a rewind. Oh my. This is my life… Jennifer," the post read.
