What seemed to be a normal prenup shoot became another memorable day for KaladKaren. She announced the happy news on her Instagram account and it came with the most gorgeous proposal photos. "Proposal 2.0!!! Heart is full, hand is heavy! #TheWrightsons," she began in her post.
Standing in the middle of London, United Kingdom, KaladKaren and her beau, Luke Wrightson defined how it is to be in love with their very candid and lovely snaps. Lensed by Nice Print Photo, overwhelming happiness can be seen on KaladKaren's face.
ICYDK, KaladKaren and Luke have been engaged for four years already. The pandemic might have halted their wedding plans, but it seemed to have made their love and union as a couple grow stronger. The TV personality briefly tells the story of how they first got engaged in the caption of her IG post. "Luke and I got engaged in the middle of pandemic, 4 years ago. It was just us two locked down in our apartment and we didn’t even have the chance to have a proper photo shoot until now, she shared.
KaladKaren also admitted how surprised she was by Luke's sweet stint. "I thought it was just an ordinary prenup shoot! Sobrang gulat ko nang muli siyang nag-propose here in our favorite city at may ring upgrade!!!! Huhuhu Worth the wait! You make me the happiest, my love!" she expressed. Supportive and congratulatory messages poured for the couple.
KaladKaren and Luke Wrightson's relationship
KaladKaren and Luke have been longtime partners since 2012. After eight years of being together, Luke first popped the question in September 2020. It was simple but full of love—he asked KaladKaren about marriage inside their home, in the middle of a lockdown.
No pandemic hindered Luke's desire to marry and settle down with KaladKaren. It's something that KaladKaren didn't expect to even happen to her. As she said in a post, "Sa love, minsan kailangan mo lang maniwala."
In their 2020 vlog about their engagement, KaladKaren even noted how love seemed to be something she cannot achieve as a transgender woman. "Dati noong bata ako, akala ko wala ng taong magmamahal sa akin dahil bakla ako, transgender ako, at naiiba raw ako," she said.
But life and love move in mysterious ways. Circumstances led KaladKaren and Luke to meet and find solace with each other as a couple. Luke bought KaladKaren's first engagement ring in the U.K. and had been waiting for the right timing for so long.
Talking about informing his family, Luke expressed how decided he was to be with KaladKaren, whose real name is Jervi Li. "My mom already knew 'cause I spoke to my mom and dad, bless him. I said I want to propose to Jervi next time I'm home so I need to find a ring," Luke said in the vlog.
The right timing occurred during one chill night on their balcony. But it was perfect. Luke got down on one knee and asked KaladKaren to spend the rest of their lives together. For KaladKaren, it was indeed an unforgettable night. Love wins—always.
