Women can make the first move in dating, and Kim Molina is the living proof of it.
The actress-comedienne revealed in a Magandang Buhay interview that she was the one who pursued her longtime partner, Jerald Napoles. They have been together for nearly ten years already, six of which were their official girlfriend-boyfriend era.
"Ako po nanligaw. [laughs] Gwapo 'di ba?" she jokingly admitted. Kim and Jerald started as best friends and later on, upgraded their relationship to romantic partners. Kim recalled, "Para nga po siyang hindi ligaw, parang pareho kayo ng goals in life."

Like others, it wasn't a perfect relationship between Kim and Jerald. But Kim says, they tried and managed to make it work through the years despite multiple fallouts from each other. "Dumating po sa point na parang tine-test 'yung relationship namin. Within the years na magkasama po kami, ilang beses kaming nagkahiwalay..." she shared.
Kim noted that their temporary breakups were mostly caused by some difficulties with their careers, balancing their time for each other, and so on. "We had that phase kumbaga pero at the end of everything naging okay na," Kim pointed out.
She also mentioned something that helped them maintain a strong and steady relationship—and that was to always tell each other what they are grateful for every day.
"Hindi kami talaga matutulog hangga't hindi namin sasabihin sa isa't isa: what are the three things you're grateful for the day? 'Yung kahit maliit na bagay. Bago po kasi kami matulog, gusto namin 'yung maaliwalas, 'yung good vibes [...] Kahit simpleng bagay, we would always share that to each other," Kim stated.
During her interview, Kim got emotional after watching a surprise video greeting from Jerald. It was a simple video of her partner declaring his love for her. Kim couldn't help but cry, appreciating the man that she had been with for the past years of her life.
"Na-touch po ako... He's the type of person wherein... siyempre hindi naman po perfect ang relationships ng kahit na sino naman po... laging may pinagdadaanan at saka nagagawan ng paraan lahat ng bagay. Kami po kasi ni Je, he's my best friend, he's always there for me," Kim said.
Kim and Jerald have worked together in a couple of films like Ang Babaeng Walang Pakiramdam (2021), and Girlfriend Na Pwede Na (2022). At present, they have businesses together, and also a podcast called "The Comfort Room." Their podcast would often discuss relationship woes. It won the Spotify Philippines' "Top Comedy Podcast of The Year."
