Laureen Uy is currently learning the ropes of motherhood. From being our resident lifestyle and travel girlie, the 35-year-old blogger is now transitioning to the newest chapter of her life and she's extremely thrilled about it, two trimesters in. She still has a long way to go, but she's already discovered what moms need as they go through pregnancy: an amazing support system.
In an exclusive chat with Cosmopolitan Philippines on November 7, 2024, Laureen talked about her major life update with much gusto. She and her husband Miggy Cruz recently announced that they are expecting their first child together. What she was proud of about her pregnancy wasn't the smooth or calm trimesters—because she admittedly experienced the rough tides of the first few months—but it was the fact that she had all the support and guidance she could get from the people around her.
"Now that I'm in my second trimester, it's doing great. I feel like I'm also lucky because I have a lot of mom friends around me, also my sister has two kids na. So I feel like with any questions I have in mind, I always get an instant answer from my friends," Laureen expressed. ICYDK, Laureen is the younger sister of fashion stylist Liz Uy. Laureen is also best friends with fellow content creators and bloggers Kryz Uy (who, btw, is a mother now to three boys) and Camille Co (who has two kids now as well!).
It's really a privilege and a great thing to have family and friends ready to be part of your journey as a mother. Laureen also divulged her pregnancy marked a new chapter not just in her life, but also in the relationships she had with her loved ones. Case in point: her sisterhood with Liz. Although, they've always been close since they work in the same industry, getting guidance from Liz for all her mom questions is a major milestone for Laureen.
"Now that I'm pregnant, it's a new chapter. In terms of my questions before, it's always been about family and fashion and like all the others, but now it's a plus plus plus with all the mom questions. So, I'm super happy that I have my mom and my sister to guide me all throughout," she declared.

What's next for Laureen Uy?
Probably the third trimester, LOL! Kidding aside, Laureen confessed that she experienced all the 'first trimester blues'—from getting sleepy to getting super tired. So now that she's in her second trimester, Laureen is gaining her energy back (and eating a lot more, 'coz she's eating for two now!).
Amid all the changes, Laureen has been experiencing, she's one excited and thankful first-time mom. She recalled receiving so many positive messages after she and Miggy announced their pregnancy. "It was so overwhelming for me that I've gotten so many comments and DMs on my pregnancy. I'm just always so thankful for the support."
Laureen has been sharing her life with us as trends come and go as a content creator and blogger. Now, she's embarking on a new era and she's happy to share it again with everyone. In fact, she thinks we should all stay tuned for 'Mom Laureen'.
"With this new journey, I'm just so excited to share another chapter of my life because I feel like this is the biggest announcement that I've shared in terms of my whole life. Stay tuned kasi I feel like Mom Laureen would also be a great character," Laureen told Cosmo with her signature eye smile.
