No one experiences the emotional impact of adulting quite like parents. We often hear parents say, "Mabilis lang ang panahon," because in the blink of an eye, a decade can pass, and their child will be entering adulthood and starting on a new journey—one that begins without their parents.
In an interview with PEP, actress Lotlot De Leon opened up about how much she honors and values her daughter Janine Gutierrez’s "marrying age," stating that if Janine finds the right man and decides to get married, she wouldn't be against it.
"Well, alam mo, basta ako, kung nakikita ko na tinatrato yung anak ko nang maayos, na may respeto, na aalagaan siya nang mabuti at mamahalin at magiging tapat, bakit hindi?" Lotlot shared. "Nasa marrying age na siya, if she finds the right man for her, na with all the qualifications na hinahanap niya, bakit hindi? Again, I trust my daughter’s decision," she added.
Lotlot also took the time to address the dating rumors between her daughter and Jericho Rosales, highlighting that the decision is not up to her.
"Well, they're both single, so nakikita ko nga na they're always together. That's good if they're trying to get to know each other. They're both mature individuals," Lotlot said.
"So if eventually they are really dating, then I trust Janine, I trust her decision," she disclosed.
Lotlot shared that Jericho is a good man, highlighting that he is thoughtful, caring, and a decent man, so she doesn't mind if Janine decides to date him.

Despite being a so-called "nepo baby" in the industry, Janine has proven herself as more than just a pretty face. Lotlot shared how initially, Janine's entry into showbiz was met with common assumptions about her being famous merely because of her parents. However, Janine has since shattered these expectations with her numerous acting awards, demonstrating her skill and dedication as an actress.
"I'm very proud. Kagaya ngayon paalis siya, she's going to Venice, she has a movie with Direk Lav Diaz, with Tito Ronnie Lazaro, she's so excited," Lotlot shared.
Lotlot recounted Janine's excitement when she was chosen by Direk Lav for the film, Phantosmia, which is set to be showcased at the Venice Film Festival—a prestigious honor for any actress.
"Sabi ko nga, 'Excited na akong makita ka to walk that red carpet,' kasi naka-entry din dun yung pelikula ni Lady Gaga saka ni Joaquin Phoenix, yung Joker sequel—iyon yung nakakatuwa," Lotlot revealed.
