All the rumors are true! You guys, after weeks of speculation—Marco Gumabao confirmed that he’s dating Cristine Reyes. ICYMI, whispers of a possible romance between the two Viva stars circulated after they were spotted holding hands in public.
In a press conference for his new series Kurdapya, where Marco stars alongside Yassi Pressman, the actor silenced the rumor mill once and for all. "Yeah, hindi naman kami nagde-deny ni Cristine. Of course, napag-usapan na rin namin to, we’re not denying anything,” he revealed.
"Unang-una, wala naman kaming tinatapakan. We’re both single. Basta, you’ll find out when the time is right," he added, answering the press who asked him if they’re officially in a relationship already.
As of now, they like to keep their dating life as private as possible. "Hindi rin naman sa hindi pa right time, pero siguro we’re just enjoying yung time namin na kami muna, wala munang nakikialam, nakiki-usyoso.
"Kasi, the reason why I’m very private when it comes to love life is because kapag nalaman ng tao na, for example, you’re dating this woman, maraming makikigulo. Maraming eepal, maraming maninira. Yun ang ayoko.”
"And at the same time, happy naman kami sa tahimik na buhay."
Marco shared how they are behind the cameras. "Kami siguro ni Cristine, kaya siguro nagki-click kami, kasi, outside of work, outside of the camera, we’re just two normal people.
"We enjoy going out, eating out. Going to public places, going to the mall. Hindi kami nagtatago yung nagma-mask at naka-shades sa mall. Kumbaga, if you will see us, then, people see us. Hindi kami nagtatago, and we’re not also... hindi naman namin binabalandra."
He also doesn’t want to give their relationship a specific *label* right now. “Well, we started as friends. Sa SOCO nga in ABS-CBN, naka-trabaho ko pa siya. So, na-form yung friendship namin and of course, what we have now is special, I can say.
"Ayoko munang magsabi ng mga label-label na ganyan. For me, yung label, it puts a lot of pressure to your relationship. Basta kaming dalawa, happy kami. We’re not seeing other people also.”
He only has the ~sweetest~ words for Cristine. “Ang nagugustuhan ko sa kanya, first of all, she’s very wife material. Sobrang bait niya. Wala siyang arte.”
He also sees no issue with Cristine being a single mother. "She’s not the first woman naman to be a single parent. Wala naman masama.”
