Maricar Reyes and Richard Poon have reached the impressive mark of 10 years together as a married couple. As she reflects on their journey, Maricar opens up about the secret to their enduring love and the choices they make every day to keep their marriage strong.

"10 years ago today, June 9, 2013, we got married," Maricar reminisces.

She attributes her lasting marriage to Richard to a key advice they got in 2014, just a year after their fairytale wedding,

"A prominent man told Richard about his own love story. He had a fairytale wedding to the woman of his dreams... But 10 years later, they separated," she discloses.

Maricar emphasizes that this story serves as a constant reminder for them. "Nobody had bad intentions. They were not evil people. They just couldn't work out their differences," she explains.

The couple carries this realization to ensure they never become complacent in their own relationship, especially when others refer to them as a "power couple." They acknowledge that if they are not careful, their bond can be tested at any moment.

Marriage, as they have learned, is a daily journey of making choices

"Every day is full of little choices that will either break or strengthen our marriage," Maricar reflects.

In the face of challenges, Maricar says she and Richard ponder important questions together. "Will we let go? Will we seek revenge for the other person to 'learn'? Will we give up on each other if one struggles to overcome their personal battles?" she contemplates.

"We're grateful that our everyday life choices have led us to this remarkable milestone of 10 years," Maricar adds.

In a separate interview last year, Maricar says she is also okay with not being blessed with kids yet.

"I just have this peace. If there are children, okay. If not, okay…It doesn't make me feel like I'm less of a person or I'm less of a female,” she tells Rica Parelejo in an interview.

"If there are none, well, there are none. You've done your part, and I rest on that."
