A tearful Alex Gonzaga revealed her second pregnancy loss in a sit-down interview with her sister, Toni Gonzaga. One of the things that Alex highlighted during their talk was how supportive and kind her husband, Mikee Morada, was throughout their journey.

It was in October 2021 when Alex shared about her first miscarriage in a vlog. They later tried undergoing in-vitro fertilization (IVF) in hopes of conceiving a child soon. However, in September 2023, after 12 IVF sessions, it still did not work out for the couple.

Alex disclosed despite being optimistic about becoming a mom already, she still felt scared—yet Mikee never left her side. He was there to always comfort and support her.

"Minsan nalulungkot din ako kasi sasabihin ni Mikee sakin, "alam mo ang saya saya ko kahit tayong dalawa lang.... sobrang bonus na lang sa akin 'yung baby,'" said Alex before breaking into tears. "Sabi ko bakit? Sabi niya, kasi masakit mag-expect e.

Their pregnancy journey was not a story solely about their love as a married couple but also about Alex's growth as a person, she says. Alex looked back on her controversy this year and how all the criticisms became a part of her wake-up call. She recalled having to face the issue while also having her pregnancy struggles.

Alex even remembered being jealous of Toni's second pregnancy. But her husband made her realize and said, "Ano ka ba, ang tagal na nilang nag-aantay. Four years, pero binigay sa kanila. Tayo kailan lang naman tayo kinasal. Tama lang na binigay sa kanila."

That was all part of her thought process until it dawned on her that she was unreasonably in a rush to get pregnant—that in fact, no one was pressuring her to conceive.

"If I'll just become faithful and talagang tanggapin ko consequences ng mga actions ko... Hindi ganoon,'" she stated.

Right before their final check-up, Alex told Mikee her sincere acceptance of whatever the results of their pregnancy would be—which her husband responded with so much love and care.

Tapos sobrang saya niya, niyakap niya ako," Alex shared.

The hopeful mom also took the chance to convey her admiration and support for all the women who have also been trying to conceive a child through IVF.

It has been three years since Alex and Mikee started their journey toward becoming a family of three. They got married last November 2020 in an intimate ceremony at their home residence, nearly four years after they started dating in 2016.

Recently, the couple celebrated Halloween with a very meaningful getup as the fictional characters from the movie "Up," Carl and Ellie. In her post, Alex wrote, "Carl and Ellie forever! If you know their love story you’ll know why this year I chose them."
