Love stories that stand the test of time often have an air of *enchantment* about them, and the fairytale romance between Pia Wurtzbach and Jeremy Jauncey is no exception. After exchanging vows in Seychelles, the couple let the world in on the key ingredients that make their relationship thrive.
instagram/bessiebesanaPia gushed about the bond she shares with Jeremy in an interview with Anas Bukhash. "I am so blessed and grateful that somehow God said that this is the person who will fill all the gaps in your heart. And he just filled all the gaps in my heart," she says.
"I have a mentor, a best friend, a lover, but also a father figure, a coach—all molded into one person. He has so many roles in my life; he is not just my husband."
The couple's journey to happiness was not without its challenges, though, and Pia candidly acknowledged the hurdles she faced in life.
"He knows about the struggles I went through. Fortunately for him, he didn't go through any of that; he had an amazing childhood," Pia shared. "I was given somebody who was strong enough to help me and be strong for me, and...it works. I mean, I'm a handful, but it works."
Instagram/piawurtzbachAside from Jeremy being a pillar of support for the Miss Universe titleholder, communication also plays a *huge* role in their marriage’s success.
“What’s been really helpful for us is that we are always communicating, and we’re transparent with our communication. There’s no sugarcoating, there are no flowery words, there’s no beating around the bush. And we talk about everything,” she reveals.
“We went through a whole list of topics and questions that we need to cover before we got married. I hear about couples who never talk about finances with their partners, so they don’t know if they’re about to marry somebody who’s in debt. Or, like, ‘Is the business going well? Are you saving?’”
According to the beauty queen, it’s *essential* to talk about the hard things.
“I’m no relationship expert, of course, and we’re still learning along the way. But what I learned is that communication is so important. We’re still communicating as we go along, still learning about each other.”
Aww! Stay strong, you two!
