No pressure, but on the list of potential ladies who *might* be tying the knot in the near future is Rabiya Mateo—and even the beauty queen herself seems to be ~manifesting*~ it.
Asked by Boy Abunda in an interview about her reaction if her boyfriend Jeric Gonzales gets on one knee and pops the question, Rabiya candidly said that she’ll give her sweet “yes.” She explained, “Kasi iba na rin ngayon. Siguro, during that time, I was just 23 (nang mag-propose ang dating boyfriend). And ngayon, Tito Boy, parang feeling ko na-fulfill ko na yung pangarap ko for my family.
“Nabilhan ko na ng bahay si Mama, nabigyan ko na sila ng… yung savings, nakapag-ipon na po ako. Siguro hindi agad-agad, pero siguro in two years, kasi gusto ko rin maging nanay na. I can see myself.” Aww!
Giving consideration to Jeric, she added, “Pero hindi lang naman kasi yun ang desisyon na ako yung gagawa. Kaming dalawa dapat ng partner ko.”
ICYDK, this isn’t actually the first time Rabiya was asked about her marriage plans with her S.O. When she was 23, her ex-boyfriend Neil Salvacion proposed to her, albeit she rejected it since she was too young for it and had different priorities back then. She said, “I think this is the first time na sasabihin ko sa TV, but he (Neil) proposed to me, and I was so young that time. I wasn’t ready. I have a lot of dreams for my family.
“And during that time, he was ready to settle na because, feeling niya, okay na siya sa buhay. Pero ako, I wanna aspire to be more. So, du’n kami nagkaroon ng conflict.”
She also cleared that she is still friends with Neil, although they don’t communicate that much anymore because Jeric gets jealous about it. “We are friends kasi mabait siyang tao. Mabait siya. Kaya mo naman maging kaibigan with your ex, eh. Kaya! Without feelings. Ako kaya ko.”
