Sam Milby finally broke his silence about his now-past relationship with Catriona Gray. Reports about their breakup started circulating in early 2024, but the two chose to keep matters private about them. Much has been said about the ex-couple, especially since they even got engaged in 2023.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Sam directly admitted that he is no longer Catriona's boyfriend—or fiancé. As for the reason why the relationship ended, Sam clarified that no third party was involved. "There was never a third party sa amin ni Cat. That needs to be cleared. There is no truth to it at all," Sam firmly declared.
Sam posed a warning to the public, asking them to be very vigilant about certain news, especially if there's no evidence to back the information posted. "Please mag-ingat kayo sa mga nakikita niyo sa online. If there's no evidence, 'wag niyong paniwalaan 'yung nakikita niyo because in this incident, there's absolutely no truth to it at all," he expressed.
In the past few months, the rumor mill has been trying to make sense of Cat and Sam's breakup—assuming that singer Moira Dela Torre allegedly came between the lovers, causing the split. Sam and Moira were notably close before and the actor didn't deny it. However, in his conversation with ABS-CBN News, without going into too much detail, he disclosed that he's no longer friends with Moira.

There might be a lot of things that contributed to the end of Sam and Cat's relationship. Sam highlighted that it was their deliberate choice to be private about their relationship from start to end. "Kami ni Cat, we've always been private about our relationship. We share certain things nung na-engage kami, but in terms of the details, and buhay namin, we haven't really shared."
The two started publicly dating in 2020. Three years later, Cat and Sam announced their engagement. However, less than a year later—at a time when excitement about their wedding plans was building—the couple faced an unexpected turn in their relationship. Instead of addressing it in their personal accounts, their management Cornerstone Entertainment released a joint statement for for the two.
"While it is true that Sam and Catriona are currently facing some challenges in their relationship, they are actively working on resolving these issues together. We kindly request that everyone respect their privacy during this time as they navigate through this situation. We appreciate the concern and well-wishes from all those who have shown support for the couple," a part of Cornerstone's February 28, 2024 statement read.
Sam and Cat's relationship made headlines again after the two were recently spotted together. The two were seated a few seats apart at TJ Monterde's concert—where Cat was spotted getting too emotional as TJ belted his ballads. As online commenters called it, it seemed that the beauty queen was having a major "relapse" that night because of TJ's songs. (ICYDK, TJ is known for heartbreaking songs everyone can easily relate to!)
Amid the comments online, Sam here divulges that 1) they are okay, and 2) he's moving on by focusing on work. "If you wanna ask her what she was feeling, I can't speak for her. I know that we're okay, kahit after nung concert I said I'll go to the backstage. 'Cause we're okay," Sam stated.
Sam is currently doing promotions for his upcoming film, Everything About My Wife, and for the television run for his series, Saving Grace.
