Even though peach fuzz was the year's color of 2024, red—specifically the shade of cherry red was having its moment—especially for the fashion and beauty-obsessed girlies. From the red nails theory to red hair, local celebs such as BINI Mikha and Alexa Ilacad, as well as international artists like Dua Lipa were seen sporting it in 2024. It seems as if the world was so re(a)d-y for the rednaissance. Of course, I had to participate in this trend one way or another, and my choice of poison was red flats—specifically, local brand Hue Manila's Evi in Cherry.
An honest review of Hue Manila's red flats
Like most shoes, you need to somehow "break it in" first before you stop getting blisters. This means that you need wear it enough times before you can go out without band-aids ready in your purse. It's kind of like a shoe initiation, if you will. Once you're past that, it's all smooth sailing. The Internet-trending Evi flats is no exception to this.

I first wore my pair during my sister's college graduation at the PICC. We went to the Manila Hotel for a lunch buffet for her celebration. That said, I had to do a lot of walking (to get as many rounds as I could with the food LOL), and unfortunately found myself with some blisters afterwards . But each time I wore it out, I got to stretch my pair and now, I could even wear it from day to night—and I did it without feeling any pain.
I was also able to wear my pair during our company Christmas party. I came to the office at around 9 a.m. and left around midnight, and I came home with no complaints at all. I even got to perform, dance, and jump around in my pair and the blisters were non-existent. My feet didn't hurt one bit!

It's just the right pop of color, too. I'm someone who loves to wear neutral clothes, but somehow still likes to incorporate some hint of color. I find that I always gravitate toward my Evi Cherry pair for this. It's just the right shade of red, at least for me, because while it adds color, it still isn't that bright for me, and doesn't overpower the whole look I'm wearing.
Its style is also one of the reasons I fell in love with it and bought it. You would often see the same designs of flats, but Evi's is somewhat new, with its semi-pointed toe and cute little strap near the toes. I always receive compliments whenever I'm wearing them, they're just that eye-catching!

I find that I can also style it in various ways. I could wear them for dressier and formal events (like my sister's graduation) or dress them down for a day at work or the mall. I can wear my pair as is. Or I can even wear them with socks for a more playful, preppy approach—a pro tip you can do while you're still warming or stretching your pair out to avoid getting blisters, but in style!

The pair retails at only P1,690 and you can order it on the Hue Manila website.
