Heart Evangelista Opens For Vietnamese Designer Phan Huy’s Paris Show
It’s A Double Debut For Two Asian Fashion Icons
Heart opened Phan Huy’s first show ever in Paris. Phan Huy is a Vietnamese designer who’s dreamy dresses are a favorite among Vietnam’s stars like Chi Pu and Hoàng Thu Linh.
On Instagram, Phan Huy's post gave more nuance to Heart’s appearance at the show. The caption below the runway photos and videos read, “ In the early morning hours of March 3, 2024, at 1 AM Vietnam time, Phan Huy held his highly successful debut fashion show in Paris. Among the guests and industry experts were @iamhearte (Heart Evangelista), the inspirational figure from the renowned movie/novel “Crazy Rich Asians,” who made a surprise appearance at the last minute to open the show...”
The last-minute element doesn’t show on Heart’s face, though. Always the professional, she walked gracefully and effortlessly in a strapless black gown with a deep neckline. Her hair was slicked back and the accessories were kept to a minimum save for matching black gloves. Steven Doan, chief brand officer of Phan Huy, styled the show. Steven’s other styling work was spotted on Harper’s Bazaar Thailand.

Small Girl, Big Dreams
Heart’s Instagram Stories gives us a bit of an idea of what it was like backstage. In one post, she wrote “Small girl, big dreams :)” showing how the other models towered over her. It doesn’t matter, Heart! You are an *inspo* to all women out there, showing that height isn’t a barrier to achieving your dreams.
Heart also shared another photo with a funny expression. We think it’s a way to let out the nervousness.
Heart Continues To Establish Her International Reputation
We are hoping for Heart that this runway debut is the start of more show appearances. It’s about time she gets more recognition beyond being a front-row mainstay.
Since attending her first Fashion Week in 2017, Heart steadily developed into a sought-after fashion show guest alongside other global style influencers. For this season, she just finished attending the fall/winter presentations of Hermes, Saint Laurent, and Giambattista Valli.
