How uncomfortable are you going to be two hours (or even five minutes) in? Well, in the case of a young woman in the US, she came to discover a new function for her SKIMS bodysuit: saving her life.
Angelina Wiley took to TikTok to share her story of how she believes the tightness of her bodysuit from Kim Kardashian's SKIMS line stopped her from bleeding out after she was shot four times.
Angelina (who goes by Nina) was out celebrating the New Year in Kansas City, Missouri, on January 1st, 2023. At around 1:30 a.m. while waiting for a Lyft, the 22-year-old got caught in gunfire after hearing people fighting and seeing a man in a ski mask begin shooting.
"Kim Kardashian saved my life," Nina explains in the video, going on to detail exactly what happened.
"This New Year’s, I got shot four times. The night I got shot, under my dress, I was wearing a SKIMS shaping bodysuit. It was so tight on me that it literally kept me from bleeding out."

Nina's followers were quick to comment on her sense of humor as she continued, "I recommend it. I'm definitely gonna buy some more. I mean, I should wear it every day, it's like body armor for women."
"Call it fate or Jesus, but I'mma call it Kim. I'mma call it Kim for sure," she finished.
And it turns out Kim herself spotted Nina's video after followers tagged the Kardashian in the comments section. Sharing it on her Instagram stories just days ago, Kim wrote over Nina's video "wowww ????".
In a follow-up video, Nina revealed it was the SKIMS Seamless Sculpt Thong Bodysuit she had on under her dress the night she was shot. She also elaborated that the shapewear "helped protect the important things" by changing the way her body sat and had she not been wearing it, the bullets could have caused more damage.

SKIMS gave Nina a refund and a discount after she revealed it was the first day she'd gotten to wear the bodysuit, only for it to be cut off her by paramedics and then kept by police. Replying to one of the comments, she wrote, "The detectives have my skims bc it’s a part of the investigation so I have 0 skims now."
Speaking to People on July 17, 2023, Nina shared "SKIMS actually reached out to me via Instagram today and they're sending me some of their favorite pieces. I'm so excited!"
