Hands down the perfect accessory to pair with off-shoulder necklines. Bonus points for being inexpensive, which meant we could hoard them and wear a different one every day of the week, LOL!
3. Colorful patches
Many items in our closets got a fun and playful update, thanks to these sewn-on embellishments.
4. Gucci loafers and slippers
2016 was the year of Gucci, and the brand’s printed loafers and fur-lined slippers were definitely celeb and blogger favorites.
5. Exaggerated sleeves
From voluminous bell shapes to super long sleeves, the more eye-catching and, dare we say it, impractical, the better!
6. Statement hems on jeans
Cropped jeans had a major moment this 2016. People either wore theirs with raw, uneven hems, or fringed and distressed to perfection—all the better to show off a killer pair of shoes!
7. Blue and white stripes
For a time, you couldn’t browse through social media without seeing someone in crisp blue and white stripes. We loved them on off-shoulder tops, especially!
8. Gucci Dionysus bags
Along with their loafers, Gucci’s popular Dionysus bag was the designer item we all lusted after. Blame it on our favorite bloggers—the style was all over their feeds!
9. Slip tops and dresses
The ‘90s had a big influence on the way we dressed in 2016, with lingerie-like slips leading the pack in throwback style.
10. Geeky glasses
Aviator-style specs were a clear trend among the stylish set, regardless if they came with grade or not.
